Working from home was once merely a dream for most people. Until the onslaught of the Internet and home PCs, it simply wasn't feasible for companies to hire employees to work from home. And starting a small business took special know-how, a large initial investment, and a lot of advertising and marketing. But now, working from home is a reality for thousands of people, and you too can realize this dream.
The first goal for your home business should be to find ways to create steady cash flow. You'll need cash flow to operate and promote your home business, and to secure a lucrative income for yourself. There are many different ways to create a cash stream for your home business. Here are three ideas to get you started.
1. Buy a Pre-Existing Profitable Business
One way to create an immediate cash flow is to buy a pre-existing home business that is already making a profit. Of course, you will not enjoy a profit immediately because you must invest initially. But once you are able to recover from the initial investment, you can continue receiving profits year after year.
The key benefit of buying a pre-existing work-from-home business is you will gain knowledge from the previous owner about what works for the business and what doesn't work. The main disadvantage is you will have to follow in the footsteps of another instead of building your own home business from the ground up. There's a great sense of pride when you can truly call a business "your own!"
2. Follow a Profitable Business Model
Another way to create a cash stream for your work-from-home business is to follow the profitable business model of another. You can learn a lot from others who have already been successful with a home business. Many long-time entrepreneurs are creating e-books and global networks to help new home business owners become a success. They are revealing little-known secrets about work-from-home businesses that would likely take you years to discover on your own.
Look for entrepreneurs who have owned work-from-home businesses in a field that interests you. Use their ideas and examples to create a profitable business model for your new home business.
3. Internet and Network Marketing
A third way to create a cash stream of income is to utilize the Internet and network marketing to your advantage. Find and join a team of individuals who have similar goals and work with them to build a successful online business. With the Internet and network marketing, many are realizing their financial goals faster than they ever imagined.
Network marketing online can be accomplished through email and a website while working from home, and it can bring more people together with similar goals in a very short period of time. Many global network companies will promote your online business for you and take every initiative to help you become a success. There are even global resorts networks that enable you to travel to exotic places while earning a substantial income.
Whatever method you choose to create a cash stream as you work from home, set some goals for your business and start realizing your dreams today!

Blog Design
It is great that the phrase blog floats around the net day in and day out, but what if you have no idea what a blog really is? Is this going to be helpful to your web site? No, not really. Here we will offer the skinny on the phrase blog, and you can decide for yourself if it may or may not be useful in your web pages. This way you will not be wasting your time on something you may not need, and the energy can be put to something you find more useful for yourself.
The term blog refers to weblog and it is in every fashion not a commercial or professional site. It is more of the personal nature, for comment or web site material. Generally the most recent information on a blog is kept at the top of the page, as blog's are dated log formats. Often they will have commentary of other sites or links directing you to them. Many times the site is dictated by group links and the log is updated frequently. The opinion is this is the very first weblog was back in 1993 it was the Mosaic. This was generally a compiling of links that where kind of disregarded. It took until 1998 for they’re to be a mere handful of these so called blog’s in existence. The blogger all knew each other and were swapping the links between each other.
By the year 1999 this term blog was starting to pick up pace, and as a result became a phenomenon. Once it became free to the public, it really took off and was a pastime that was enjoyed by many. Web logs were hand coded by developers on the web before the software became available. The use of html was the main coding for this program, and the web designers at the time were pretty much the only ones that knew it. Now that this new software is available to the general public, anyone is capable of making a blog. The moment blogger was released in 1999 it became a huge success with the public. Now people are not restricted on what kind of weblog they make, fast-forward to the year 2000 and people are making as many as 300-350 new blogs daily. There is actually a directory for all these blogs, and it contains as many as 5,500 entries. This is now a craze with over 750,000 blog users; this was not merely a passing trend obviously.
There are multiple tools these days for the people that are truly interested in blogging, this software can be found online and has become extremely popular. Check out the craze for yourself, and see what you think of it you may just enjoy it yourself.

Making It Through The Ups And Downs Of Home Based Business
I’ve been jobless for quite some time now! Am I worried about it? No way. I have decided to take my own destiny in my hands and join the many entrepreneurs in self employment. Not just self-employment, but home based business.
What is the difference between self employment and home based business? Just this – if you take a break and go skiing for a week and you make no money, you’re self employed and own your own job. If you make money while skiing, you have a business.
I like to make money while skiing, and you can see my family skiing on my website. But this article is about ups and downs. Yes, I have experienced them! I’m still on top of it, and making money – here’s why: multiple sources of income.
The same way that mutual funds invest in a lot of businesses, you have a greater likelihood of making it through the ups and downs in home business if you have several streams of income. The most common ones are network marketing, real estate, stocks and other investments, and franchises.
I have experience in several streams and am happy to share my successes because I believe that as I give to others it comes back to me and we all win. Recently there was a slow period in networking and direct sales. I and several colleagues experienced a reduced volume of interested people.
The ship did not sink because I have other streams of income. I also do real estate investing and highly recommend it for those that like to see actual physical fruits of their labor. I also have gotten on board the latest vehicle of paid surfing.
Paid surfing allows you to make double digit returns on your money by just surfing a few pages for 10-30 minutes a day. Believe it or not, you don’t even have to be there or buy anything! You make money by just having your computer show several marketing pages for a few minutes. This is way cool!
Many of these programs have strict guidelines and you have to be careful to follow them, but if you check out my other article “Get Paid to Surf – The Next Big Thing”, I explain how they work.
Anyone who is serious about making a go of home based business should check out this stream of income. There is a lot more information in my home page listed below. Now I’m off to ski!

Getting Your Home Business Enterprise off to a Good Start
When you have taken the first step to strike out on your own with a home based business, it is particularly important that you set a high standard for yourself by setting realistic goals and a solid a plan to work with. It is alright to start your home business on a part-time basis, and is often actually preferable. But while it is o.k. to do it part time in the beginning, you can't do it in your spare time. You have to work a set number of hours each week if you wish to fulfill your goals. I suggest you have a clear set of standards and protocals set up to guide you through every situation. That is what the successful corporations do and you would do well to follow their proven example. Even though your home business will start out small, you should treat it like a big business. That means detailed planning, properly entity selection and so on. This will give your business room to grow. Think of it as a tree that must be watered until mature. But once mature it may bear fruit for many years and require far less effort to maintain.
If you have made the jump to entrepreneur, you probably know that you are a little different from most other people. This is because there are certain clearcut differences between employees, the self employed and individuals who are business home owners.
Those who are employees usually seek security. They often feel that they must have a paycheck and believe that being their own boss, investing in their own home-based business is just too risky.
You could even say that they are addicted to getting a paycheck.
People who are self employed, like plumbers or doctors fall into another category completely. They are usually perfectionists who think that they and only they can 'get the job done right'. But when such a person goes on vacation, so does his income. But as a home business owner, you know that you are cut from a slightly different cloth. Other people may openly wonder how you can operate without the mental safety net of a paycheck. But you secretly know that no job is completely safe anyway.

A closer look at work from home
There is no denying in the tremendous increase in the number of online businesses in the past 10 years, not only in the USA, but just about any place where computers can be accessed easily. As we all know that, among many online businesses run by good and honest people, there are some online businesses run by bad and unscrupulous people whose primary objective is to con money out of unsuspecting naive people who are desperately looking online for jobs due to their circumstances such as being a stay-home-parent with kids, wheelchair bound, or whatever their unique circumstances could be that made them think that online jobs made more sense. I decided to look around online, about 2 years ago, after seeing so many popups about home based jobs such as paid online surveys, freelance jobs, etc to see if they were another one of online schemes to rip you off. After I signed up with many of them, of course I couldn't check all, and receiving hundreds, if not thousands, of junk emails from them I was able to tell which ones were good and bad. As in real life, we have to be careful and take some precautions by finding out if there is a physical address of business or a phone number or even by checking it out on BBB.org (Better Business Bureau) online before typing in our sensitive information.

Focus Your Home Business Like A Laser To Explode Your Income!
A common mistake for almost all new work at home / home business beginners is the trap of trying to be all things to all people. They will take any job, even if it not what they set out to do, simply because the job pays money.
It's tough to focus, we know!
We know how tough it is to stick to just one thing in your new home business because here at FunCareers.com we "eat our own dog food". Everyone works from home and knows the successes and difficulties you face and one of the things we have learned for ourselves is that you must focus on just *one* thing to be successful.
In the modern world, specialization is the key to success. If you were chosing a brain surgeon to operate on you I am sure you'd prefer one that only does brain surgery and nothing else! The same applies to your business.
If you do just one thing.
For example, if you are offering a lawn care service then specialize in that. It's all too easy to offer tree trimming, fences, design and many other landscaping services as well. If you're going to offer general landscaping and maintenance then do that. If you're going to do "lawn care" then learn all about grasses and how to manage and care for lawns the best ways possible. Now when you offer lawn care you can target upscale markets and be an expert on creating and managing perfect green lawns, with fees to match.
Narrow your focus to make more money!
You may be surprised to learn that making your focus more narrow actually gets you more customers. By offering one targeted product or service you can charge higher fees and you attract the customers that are willing to pay for your expertise. This applies to the online world as well as the real world. I'm sure you've seen hundreds of those "mini-sites", just one long sales page and nothing else. That's an extreme example of focus - not even a site, just one page, one product, it sells or it doesn't.
You can learn a thing or two from those pages for your real world business and create a laser like focus on the one thing you excel at, only targetting the customers that crave your product or service so you can increase your home business income.

Answers To Your E-commerce Problems
First of all, what is e-commerce? E-commerce is commerce, including business, trade, buying, and selling, that is transacted electronically, rather than hand-to-hand. Businesses need efficient technology and strong marketing in order for e-commerce to be successful. The goal is to increase your business by making it easier for customers to shop, and if your website’s lack of technology and marketing make it difficult for them, they may as well drive to the mall.
Before we look at e-commerce solutions, we need to first figure out some of the problems with e-commerce. There are many complaints from customers when it comes to purchasing items online. A few include a disorganized site that is difficult and confusing to navigate; lack of information on the website including failure to tell customers about special deals or prices; the inability to pay with the customer’s native currency or the inability for the customer to even understand the language in which the website is written; and frustrating and confusing shopping carts and check out procedures.
Well then, what are some e-commerce solutions? Having a professional looking website will attract customers and make them feel confident in buying from you. You want your website to be organized and easy to navigate, and if you have an informational website that is search engine friendly; shows promotional deals; encourages up selling in a friendly way (such as showing related items or showing items that customers purchased who also purchased the item you are purchasing); is accessible in most languages and accepts different types of currency; has a user friendly shopping cart and single page checkout, then you won’t need many e-commerce solutions!
Remember, when your business is e-commerce, you want to take all possible steps to make sure you and your product are presented professionally, friendly, and easily accessible.

5 Reason Why You Need A Work At Home Schedule
One of the attractions of working at home is the vision of freedom it invokes -- no time clock, no time sheets, and no one to account to for how you spend your time. Yes, it is an attractive proposition, but like so many attractive propositions there is a heavy downside -- you are likely wasting a lot of time.
My husband spends time every day filling out these large spreadsheets to account for his day. He works for a large engineering company and his day often encompasses work on a variety of projects for different clients. He loathes the activity and I have always dismissed it as a waste of time -- that is until my home business recently took off and I realized there simply wasn't enough hours in the day to accomplish all my goals.
I now have my own spread sheet and agenda for the day and I have improved my productivity and reduced my stress immeasurably. If you don't think you need a schedule for your home business then think again -- and read on.
After a spate of relatively unproductive days when my "To Do" list seemed to grow exponentially every time I looked at it I knew something had to change.
Granted I was going through a rough patch. My home business was experiencing growing pains and taking up more than the usual time, my four-year-old was only in preschool part-time, my husband wasn't pulling his weight on the home front, and my extended family was experiencing a number of crises. But I'm also old enough to know there is never a perfect time in life -- you just live the one you've got. These are simply the problems I'm dealing with this year. Next year these problems will be traded in for new fresh ones.
After studying my time and chatting with some other work-at-home folks, I discovered five reasons to embrace the schedule:
1. It's too easy to waste time doing nonpriority tasks2. It's too easy to get sidetracked or distracted from your current task3. Unscheduled work time can often overlap into your free time until you don't have any free time at all4. Your free time can overlap into your work time until you fall behind with important projects5. Concentrating your time and effort on highest priority projects means more gets done
I'm not the only work at home business person encompassing the schedule. I recently took part in an online forum where men and womenhad moved to embrace it -- and found it more freeing than restrictive. After all, you are still the one setting the schedule so you are free to schedule yourself off for a 3-hour lunch, an afternoon, or a whole day whenever you choose.
If you find it difficult setting up your schedule and priorities for the day and week then perhaps your significant other or a friend can help you set your schedule.
